1. Core materials: The core materials used in transformers mainly include iron sheets, low-silicon sheets, and high-silicon sheets. Adding silicon to steel sheets can reduce their conductivity and increase resistivity, which can reduce eddy currents and minimize losses. We usually refer to steel sheets with added silicon as silicon steel sheets. The quality of the silicon steel sheets used in transformers is closely related to the quality of the transformer itself, and the quality of silicon steel sheets is usually represented by magnetic flux density B. Generally, the B value of black iron sheets is 6000-8000, low-silicon sheets are 9000-11000, and high-silicon sheets are 12000-16000.
2. The materials commonly used for winding transformers include enameled wire, sandbag wire, and silk-wrapped wire, with enameled wire being the most commonly used. The requirements for the wire are good electrical conductivity, sufficient heat resistance of the insulating paint layer, and a certain degree of corrosion resistance. Generally, it is best to use Q2 model high-strength polyester enameled wire.
3. Insulating materials: In the winding of transformers, insulation between the coil frame layers and between the windings must use insulating materials. Common transformer frame materials can be made of phenolic cardboard, while polyester film or telephone paper can be used for interlayer insulation, and yellow wax cloth can be used for insulation between windings.
4. Impregnation materials: After the transformer is wound, it must go through the final process, which is the impregnation with insulating varnish. This can enhance the mechanical strength of the transformer, improve insulation performance, and extend its service life. Generally, phenolic varnish can be used as the impregnation material. Additionally, a transformer is a device that changes AC voltage, current, and impedance. When alternating current flows through the primary coil, alternating magnetic flux is generated in the core (or magnetic core), inducing voltage (or current) in the secondary coil. A transformer consists of a core (or magnetic core) and coils, with two or more windings. The winding connected to the power source is called the primary coil, and the remaining windings are called secondary coils.
